MacKinney Batch to CICS
Do your batch and CICS regions lack the communication skills to keep you running at your optimum speed?
- Close or open files
- Dynamically allocate or unallocate files
- Set files for inquiry or update access
- Send CEMT commands
- Dynamically enable programs and transactions
- Dynamically disable programs and transactions
- Kick off transactions
- Send terminal messages
With MBC you can quickly send commands from your batch jobs to your CICS regions to coordinate file access, dynamically enable or disable programs and transactions, kick off transactions, send terminal messages and more.
Resource grouping allows you to allocate or unallocate all of the resources in a group with a single command. Applid grouping allows you to target multiple regions with a single command. IF/ELSE/ENDIF and SET logic gives you operational control over command results. Dynamic run-time options allow you to automate decisions or require manual intervention. Just tell MBC what you want done and leave your batch-to-CICS communication troubles behind.
- MBC uses an EXCI interface for quick connections between batch and CICS

- Command pre-processor User Exits in Batch and CICS allow you to send and process your own internal commands

MacKinney Batch to CICS was redesigned from the ground up to replace the functionality of the MacKinney System’s CICS/CEMT from Batch product.
Environmental considerations: For z/OS environments, MBC runs in CICS TS 1.3 and above. For VSE, MBC runs in CICS TS 1.1 and above.
Note: The VSE environment does not support cross-system EXCI, so MBC is only supported for CICS regions running in the same image.
