CICS Tools

CICS/AUTOINSTALLThe AUTOINSTALL feature of CICS 1.7 and above allows for a terminal definition to be created and installed dynamically in the TCT at logon time. In turn, terminal definitions are dynamically deleted when a terminal is logged off. This can mean a reduction in virtual storage needed for the TCT if some of your terminals are not always logged on. It can also reduce the workload for the persons who manage your terminal definitions by requiring that terminals only be defined to VTAM. AUTOINSTALL creates entries dynamically resulting in less CICS down time for maintenance. MRO users need not make Remote Terminal Definitions in their MRO region.
ABEND-SUPPORT FOR CICSAbend-Support incorporates expert dump processing logic to find the answer to CICS transaction dumps, put an end to duplicate transaction dumps, and control transactions dumps from multiple CICS regions in your CICSPLEX and MRO CICS environments.
MacKinney BATCH to CICSWith MBC you can quickly send commands from your batch jobs to your CICS regions to coordinate file access, dynamically enable or disable programs and transactions, kick off transactions, send terminal messages and more. SEE FURTHER INFORMATION
CICS/MAPR IICICS/Mapr II is an inexpensive, full-function CICS map design tool that allows screens to be designed online in CICS using an intuitive full-screen editor. Full length COBOL, PL/I, and Assembler language field names and Basic Mapping Support (BMS) field attributes can be added on the Field Definition screen. Horizontal, vertical, and/or two-dimensional arrays can be defined on the Array Definition screen. Other online CICS MAPR II facilities include a Test function for individual maps and a Demo System for a series of related maps that allows programmers to test, prototype, and demonstrate their maps online before assembling them. A batch job is used to generate BMS source macros and COBOL, PL/I or Assembler copybooks for your maps. Another batch job can be used to convert BMS source macros from products such as SDF, SDF-II, MAPGEN, and BMS/GT to our MAPR II VSAM file.
CICS/CPRDo your remote CICS users need better response time? Give them CICS/CPR.

CICS/CPR will reduce terminal output by CICS on an average of 20 to 40 percent. This is accomplished by examining each TIOA (Terminal I/O Area) for 3270 type devices before the data is sent to the terminal and converting all repetitive characters to Repeat-to-Address Order Sequences.
CICS/FORWARD RECOVERY SYSTEMWhen a VSAM file is corrupted or lost you need to recover it quickly and correctly. CICS' journal facility provides the data, but it is each installation's responsibility to have computer disaster recovery plans with recovery programs for each file which CICS updates. Most installations have not done this. MacKinney Systems Forward Recovery System for CICS (CICS/FRS) fills this void.
CICS/MENUCICS based menu system to front end your applications to your end users.
CICS/Menu II gives you an easy way to present your CICS applications to your end-users without them having to memorize cryptic transaction ids. All users will see a consistent point of entry and never have to face a blank screen. Menus can be nested and an optional user exit allows pre-display customizing. INPUTMSG data can be passed to applications. You can pre-check transaction security using an interface to MacKinney Systems CICS/SignOn or your own user exit. Administration, which is simplified with group profiles can be off loaded to group administrators.
EASY HELP FOR CICSGives users the ability to request help on individual fields on the screens they use. It also allows users to maintain the help text themselves without involving data processing personnel.
Easy Help will display the help text for the requested field in a pop-up window so that the field in question and most of the rest of your screen is still visible.
